Empire Girandoles, France around 1810

Pair of Empire Girandoles made of partly fire-gilded bronze with winged Nikes standing on spheres. The goddesses of victory are of opposite designs. They gracefully hold in their raised left and right hands, respectively, a laurel wreath which is attached to the three-flamed top. The square plinth (12x12cm) has a cylindrical base and walls in relief with floral decorations.
