Louis Seize Portal Pendule, Paris Late 18th Century

Louis Seize portal clock with fully plastic eagle and putti decoration. The portal is flanked by caryatids and the volutes are decorated with urns and garlands in fire-gilded bronze. The clock has a contrasting design with a portal in white and a base in black marble. On the base is a frieze with playing putti and gorgon mascarons. Fire-gilded bronze. The work is signed Dessille à Paris. Cf.
