Mantel Clock, Paris c. 1820
Large mantel clock in a gilt bronze case with an enamel clock face with Roman hours and Arabic minutes. Labeled Gallé, Rue Vivienne à Paris and Thomas. On the rectangular plinth is a figurative depiction of the sitting Venus with Amor, reaching hands. The case ends in a semicircular pedestal with another romantic relief scene in the tympanum. The clockwork was professionally overhauled.
