Baroque Secretaire, probably Saxony 1st Half 18th Century

Baroque secretaire on low feet and strictly symmetrical construction. Above the chest of drawers base, there is a writing flap and two pull-out shelves. The interior division is equipped with pigeon holes and small drawers as well as a concealed compartment with a sliding door. The writing surface has a rectangular brown leather cover and framing inlays. The top follows in a strict manner with a central tabernacle compartment and thirteen drawers. The crest is formed by a cornice of a double arch with a profiled edge. The secretary shows rich inlays with ribbon work and wind roses on walnut veneer. The gilt fittings are recent.
