Biedermeier Secretaire, Middle German, around 1820
Biedermeier secretaire in walnut veneered outside and inside with birch burlwood. The secretaire stands on partly ebonized block feet and is flanked by full columns, also ebonized. Three drawers are concealed behind the double doors of the lower part. The richly designed interior with its architectural structure shows a pavilion in the middle with a domed roof and full columns as well as a parquet floor and mirrored rear wall. The interior also features numerous drawers. A single top drawer follows under the straight cornice with ebonised profile strip. The secretaire has been expertly prepared and hand-polished. Beautiful original condition.
